Signed April 2, 2026. Effective January 1, 2027 (after midterms). Requires first-time voters and those updating registration to prove citizenship. Also mandates removal of voters officials deem ineligible. Opponents argue it could disenfranchise or discourage hundreds of thousands of eligible Florida voters. Law also alters what appears on Florida driver's licenses starting 2027.
